G3 Enterprises of Modesto expands cork production

G3 Enterprises of Modesto has upgraded its cork production to serve a business partner based in France.

G3, founded by third-generation members of the Gallo winemaking family, is using the new equipment on corks for Diam Bouchage. The French company grinds up natural cork fiber and reshapes it; Gallo does printing and other finish work.

“The recently completed expansion will enable G3 to continue to provide the highest quality Diam closures through improved productivity and the industry’s best quality control,” said John Kalal, vice president and general manager for manufacturing at G3, in a news release.

The new equipment at G3’s plant on Crows Landing Road includes five machines that can print more than 1 million corks per day, along with a new coater.

G3 makes closures and labels for E.&J. Gallo Winery and other beverage companies. It also provides transportation, warehousing and mobile bottling services.

G3 is the sole distributor for Diam Bouchage in the United States, Canada and Mexico.

“North America has always been an important region for our company, and we are very proud of the number of outstanding wine brands that are using our closures thanks in large part to G3 and efforts such as this recently completed expansion project,” said Francois Margot, sales manager at Diam Bouchage for North America and China.
