•  Sacramento Container Corp. expands deeper into the Valley

•  “Our customer base has exploded”

Corrugated box manufacturer Sacramento Container Corporation is expanding to Kingsburg, taking over and renovating a former Del Monte warehouse.

The company, which makes containers for the food and beverage industry – from Sun-Maid raisins to wines to milk – will install new equipment in the 265,000 square foot building and hire about 25 workers initially, growing that number to about 200 in approximately three years, says Sacramento Container President Joseph LeRoy.

“Our customer base has exploded,” he says in explaining the expansion from the firm’s current location at the former McClellan Air Force Base in Sacramento County.

One of the firm’s largest customers is the Kingsburg-based cooperative Sun-Maid Growers of California, the nation’s largest processor of raisins, Mr. LeRoy says.

As part of the expansion, the company has consolidated its Fresno warehouse operations into the new Kingsburg location.

Mr. LeRoy says as the Kingsburg facility ramps up, it will be hiring maintenance workers, forklift drivers and machine operators among other factory positions.
