Fresno's North Pointe biz park to get $4.5M warehouse

A new $4.5 million distribution warehouse is the first new building at North Pointe Business Park in seven years.The North Pointe Business Park at North and Orange avenues in Fresno began construction on a new distribution warehouse valued around $4.5 million — the first new building in the Class A business park in the last seven years. Construction broke ground this week and the project is expected to be finished by the end of summer.

The park was built in 2006 and currently features five buildings that combine for 310,000 square feet on 70 acres of land. The master plan will cover 230 acres when complete. Existing tenants include Glaxo Smith Klein, Foster Farms, Valley Wide Distributing and Kraft Foods.

“It’s a really good thing for local the economy to see some new construction,” said Ethan Smith of Grubb & Ellis, the listing broker for the business park. “If you go out there today, you will see there are people working and that’s putting money back into the local economy.”

Although the business park management cannot disclose specific company names, it confirmed it is in discussion with a certain tenant to occupy half the building.

“You can get a small package delivered to 99 percent of the population of California overnight using ground service from this warehouse,” Smith said.

When finished the warehouse will employ as many as 75 people, not including the construction jobs in the meantime.
