New Cell Site Helps Fresno, California, Residents and Visitors Make More Calls, Download More Apps and Stay Connected

Calling, downloading apps and surfing the web on the Verizon Wireless 3G network is now easier and faster for residents and travelers in California's Central Valley thanks to a new cell site in Fresno. The site expands 3G wireless coverage and capacity along Highway 180 leading into Kings Canyon & Sequoia National Parks, including the park's headquarters and information office, the community of Wilsonia, Highway 198 and Highway 180.

Since being founded in 2000, Verizon Wireless has invested more than $6.5 billion in its California network. Nationally, the company has invested more than $65 billion over that same period to increase the coverage and capacity of its network, and to add new services.

The network upgrade is part of the company's ongoing investment to keep improving and strengthening the nation's largest and most reliable 3G wireless network.
