•  New Fresno plant needed to meet growing demand, company says

•  ‘We’ll be developing new organic products’

Brandt/Monterey of Fresno, formerly known as Monterey AgResources, is expanding its operations with the acquisition of a 96,000 square foot facility to produce organic agricultural nutrients to meet the increasing demand for organic products.

Closing of the deal on the new building, located at Wawona and Willow Avenues adjacent to Brandt/Monterey’s existing building, is expected this week, with the structure to be fully operational by mid-November.

“The demand for organic products has been rising in recent years, and we needed to have a facility dedicated to producing nutrients and organic inputs,” says John Salmonson, president and CEO of Brandt/Monterey. “In addition, we’ll be developing new organic products for the future as this market continues to grow.”

Separating organic facilities from conventional production facilities lessens the potential for cross-contamination. In addition to producing Monterey Ag organic products, the new facility will also provide custom manufacturing and packaging for a number of other companies offering organic products in the western U.S. market.

Brandt/Monterey will be hiring new employees to work in the building, but an exact number hasn’t been determined as of yet.
