Petco opens new location in Lodi; one
of three stores in old Walmart space

May 17, 2017

Petco will be holding a grand opening for its new Lodi
location from May 19-21.

LODI – Pets and their owners have a new option for shopping
in the small town north of Stockton.

Petco has opened one of two new locations in Lodi at 2350 W.
Kettleman Lane in Lodi, in the building previously occupied by Walmart for
several years.

The grand opening will be held from May 19-21. Customers, or
what Petco calls “pet parents,” are invited to attend the grand opening and
ribbon-cutting ceremony. In-store pet adoption events will also be held.

According to Petco, the Lodi location was chosen
because the company “saw the perfect opportunity for pet parents to have a
trusted pet specialty retailer in this area.”

The company, based in San Diego, has 1,500 stores across the
U.S., Puerto Rico and Mexico. Each store offers dog training areas, adoption
centers and grooming salons. No other Central Valley locations have been
planned at the moment, but the company continues to look for new opportunities.

Two other stores join Petco in occupying the renovated
building. Hobby Lobby, a craft supply store, and Party City, a party supply
store, are the adjacent businesses. Party City has already opened its doors.
Hobby Lobby is slated to open soon.

The second store slated to open is located in Quakertown, PA
