E.&J. Gallo Winery made another list of good places to work in a national survey released this week. And it is recruiting in Modesto and elsewhere as business continues to boom.

Glassdoor, a recruitment website, included Gallo among 50 winners of its annual Employees Choice Award. The company scored 4.2 out of a possible 5.0 points in anonymous surveys from workers, good enough for 47th place.

The Bain & Co. management consulting firm topped the list, followed by Facebook and the Boston Consulting Group.

The news came two months after Gallo ranked among the top 10 for “company culture” in another Glassdoor listing.

“We are honored that Glassdoor and our employees have recognized Gallo as a great employer,” said Joseph Gallo, chief executive officer and president, in a news release. “I am incredibly proud of our culture and all that we continue to accomplish together.”

Gallo, the world’s largest wine producer, employs about 3,500 people at the Modesto headquarters and about 2,500 more in California and other states and nations.

The release included a link to online job listings, 75 of them in Modesto. The openings here include winemaking, sales, engineering and maintenance.

Elsewhere on the Farm Beat: People in or near Stanislaus County were honored at the annual meeting of the California Farm Bureau Federation in Monterey this week.

They included three recent graduates of Leadership Farm Bureau, which teaches advocacy and other skills over one year:

? Daniel Bays of Patterson, who grows several permanent and row crops.

? Caitie Campodonico, program director for the Stanislaus County Farm Bureau and grower-relations representative for the East San Joaquin Water Quality Coalition.

? Shaun Crook, president of the Tuolumne County Farm Bureau and a cattle rancher, logger and real estate agent.

Kelton Fleming of Lodi, owner with his family of the Duck Creek of California wholesale nursery, won the Young Farmers and Ranchers Achievement Award.
