STOCKTON — Amazon has received a building permit for improvements for its cargo operation at Stockton Metropolitan Airport, according to airport Director Harry Mavrogenes.
The county issued a building permit so Amazon can extend its existing temporary tent by another 120 feet in length. The extension will make room for the increased activity from the addition of a third daily Amazon cargo aircraft.
In addition, another 24 local workers have been hired, which brings the total employee count on the ground to 90, Mavrogenes said.
Last week, Amazon unveiled its newly-painted aircraft with the “Prime Air” livery. There was no immediate word about when the local aircraft would get the new logo.
