With the goal of expanding its talent pool and increasing client services, TekTegrity, a San Luis Obispo-based information technology company, has bought Innovative I.T., one of the Central Valley's leading technology firms.
Innovative I.T. has provided IT consulting services to hundreds of businesses in the Central Valley for nearly eight years, according to a news release. TekTegrity will now have 65 employees and serve nearly 300 businesses on the Central Coast and in the Central Valley.
Terms of the deal, which occurred in January, were not disclosed.
"Our clients rely on technology to keep their businesses running," said Russ Levanway, chief executive officer of TekTegrity. "Combining our resources and experience will allow us to keep up with industry advancements and develop technology tools to serve our clients better."
Brian Horton, chief executive officer of Innovative I.T., said the combined company will create "new career opportunities for our staff and invest in new innovative client solutions."
"TekTegrity approached us with a vision for a combined company that would preserve our relationships with our clients and include our entire team at Innovate I.T.," Horton said.
TekTegrity, founded by Levanway and Jeremy Koellish, acquired another local company, Digital Foundation Inc., in 2014. Other TekTegrity mergers and acquisitions in recent years include Sentinel Network Systems, Live File and Integrated Advantage.
TekTegrity has been recognized as one of Inc. magazine's fastest-growing private companies and has been operating on the Central Coast since 2005.
